Fixed blower motor for the small price of $900 including $184 for a diagnostic charge, a fee not shared with me until pickup. All just to find out that my compressor was "going out" and the car will blow air, just not cold air, and they need another $1300 for that. In short, they won't fix your car, and they won't be honest about the price. Never again.
We’re sorry you left feeling frustrated. We do want to clarify a few important points. The $900 total was not the cost of the blower motor alone. The blower motor repair was less than half of the invoice. The remaining amount included the HVAC control diagnostic fee and an A/C recharge service. Our timestamped shop records also show that the diagnostic fee and applicable charges were communicated prior to the work being authorized. Most importantly, the blower motor and the A/C refrigeration system are separate portions of the HVAC system. Because the blower motor was not functioning, the system could not properly be tested to diagnose the refrigeration/cooling concern. The blower motor issue therefore had to be repaired before an accurate A/C diagnosis could be performed. Once proper airflow was restored, we were able to identify the separate cooling-system concern. We understand that discovering an additional repair is frustrating, but these were two separate HVAC issues requiring separate diagnosis. We stand by the work performed and our commitment to transparent communication. Again, I apologize for the confusion and would like to understand where the miscommunication occurred so that similar situations can be prevented in the future; please give us a call at your convenience so we can discuss. Thanks!
